Summer Lovin'

Its so cool to see my little guy explore the backyard...everything is new and interesting to him...really, how long do you think you could stare at a pine cone? Or play with rocks? How his poor little soft knees can go miles at a time on that rough ole' concrete, I'll never know! I cringe when his knees hit the sidewalk, but he doesn't seem to mind at all. I don't ever remember eating dirt, but I'm sure I did and lived through it. So I guess me rushing to stick my fingers down his throat to try and get the dirt out, is a bit much?

I was trying to get him to look at me so I could take his picture, then he turned and gave me a wave!

Just a matter of time now before Gray's little legs and feet will be taking over.

I want, I need, I have to have!

g
I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I work in retail. Which is dangerous, cause I have a shopping problem. I like pretty things. I like spending money. I feel a rush of excitement when I am in a store. I also like opening those big boxes of brand new merchandise. Halo's of light come shinning out from the opened box, fairies are flying around everywhere, and an orchestra starts playing in the background! Its like Christmas for me. A kid in a candy store. Our fall collection has started arriving...and I just can't help but feel that excitement start to build...oh, how new and pretty! The first shipment was the best! I really was beyond excited...

As much as I love the warm weather, there's just a nice feeling that comes over
me when I think of cuddling up into a warm sweater on a cold day

Distressed denim is a favorite of mine right now

Now on one last final note, and then I promise, I will not talk about fall until it actually arrives! But I have a feeling my once all black closet will be filled with gray and tan colors! Here is some inspiration for you all and where I feel fall fashion will be going...

It was a whoot!

d
I wanted Gray to have a cool birthday. Something different. No balloons, no cartoon characters...nothing cheesy. So after hours of browsing the web, I came to my decision.

Owls.

They are cute, modern and such a hoot..haha...sorry had to do it!

1 year

h
Its hard to think that Gray is a year old now. The night before his birthday I was watching the clock, thinking...'Oh, I called the hospital now, then we were on our way, oh, I started pushing now...5 more hours to go..." Then it was his party,  (I'll post that later) and the day just flew by, exactly like this past year. I wish I could hold him and stop him from growing, but that would probably end with my hair being pulled and fingers pinching my skin... (are little girls like this too?)

Happy Birthday Cutie!

Dance...or not...

d
Funny how your kids do the cutest things, but as soon as you get the camera out, they get all shy and stuff...well, Gray was dancing up a storm...he's got the moves thats for sure...must take after his mom!
But as soon as he saw that camera, he had to show of his other skills...as in not listening, haha...well, I can't blame him. If I had to listen to my squeaky voice nagging me to do something, I probably wouldn't listen either!

In my absence

d
Who knew I would have so little time once I went back to work ~smirk~ Sorry for my lack of blogging over the last few weeks. You only missed out on a very snotty nose, a diaper rash, plus one more tooth breaking through- which brings the count to 2! So I made it through my first week back to work, and I have to admit, I enjoy being back. I do miss my little guy incredibly, though! I think my transition back to work has went a lot smoother then I imagined. I guess I can credit that to an amazing babysitter, and a child that does not make strange! He's going to be a year old in one week....AHHH!!Where does the time go? Plans are in motion for a very cool first birthday party...now if only I could get time to plan everything I want to do....
