Number two...

s
So these past weeks have been rather hectic around our house...hectic to the point that I actually found cobwebs entwined through the 'LOVE' sign I have sitting on our window sill. My dining room table is piled high with mail and junk that is dropped there daily, and I am pretty sure that the dust bunnies are having parties...Yep, that's pretty bad. Its even worse cause I don't care...all I want to do is sleep!! Apparently though, I am the only one, so that makes it pretty difficult! Do people not know its hard work growing a baby inside you!? Oh, right...you didn't know that? Well, baby number two is making an appearance in April!! Some of you know all about this thanks to the wonderful world of Facebook, and my husbands premature posting of several pics of Gray wearing his 'I'm gonna be a big brother' tee.

I know he's pretty cute, isn't he?
That's a long story, so I won't go into it all...but it started with a lot of yelling (from me), phone calls (as we had not told some people yet) and then ended with hugs, so what if I'm only 7 weeks? I guess its not that bad that people know...it just means I get to dig out my maternity clothes right away! My stomach seems to think its 4 months preggo, cause I feel HUGE! We are pretty excited though...and nervous...I am not sure what is going to be the hardest...having morning sickness and caring for a 14 month old, or caring for two babies under two. I am also pretty excited about sharing this pregnancy with a really good friend, she's in her 4th month with her first! So it will be prety cool to share our experience together...not only that, but a few blogs that I follow daily, well those lucky mommy's are also expecting!!!! When I found out that Nicole at Making it Lovely was expecting her second baby I couldn't wait to see what ideas she had for the new nursery! Memo's from a Working Mom is another lovely momma that I was excited for, and reading her entries always seem to be right on the money with me...I wanted to post comments on both their blogs so bad, and say ME TOO! But since I hadn't told anyone yet, I bit my tounge..until now!

You may remember my blog about our weekend at Ribfest....where I commented that our Sunday morning was amazing! Well, that was the morning I found out! Oh, and my Weekend Project, well that was all good intentions, but I just couldn't bring myself to do any organizing, first, because I was soo exhausted and second, because that will be Gray's new 'big boy' room...and I am still planning wonderful things to fill that space with. It is going to be so much fun planning and decorating Gray's new room, the nursery will probably stay somewhat the same, we may just change a few things depending on if it is a boy or girl...?

Tales of the Weekend

S
Ok, well, sorry to disappoint you but my 'Weekend Project' well it's not so much finished...I at least got it dusted and cleaned, but the organizing part of that...well...that's a whole other story...I will get it finished one day and show pics, I promise!

On a brighter not...the humidity in southern Ontario broke today!YAY! I finally got out in my garden for a bit and did a serious clean up! It's so nice to have the windows open too, I love seeing my curtains blow in the breeze!

We took Gray to the splash pad Saturday morning and hung out in the park a bit...we were the only ones there, I guess that's what happens when you get up at the crack of dawn!

Who needs a bathing suit?

The water was sooo cold!

Weekend Project

S
Yep, here it is...my junk/craft/scrapbooking/computer/spare room/Mike's work clothes...urgh..and what a mess, did you notice the first word was junk? My three day weekend involves cleaning the crap, literally, out of this room! I can't wait! There is so many things that need to be reorganized, thrown out and just generally dusted, as I am afraid that Gray might get lost the next time he wonders in there.

So here is the before....

It is going to be so relieving to have this done...I am sure this will open up tons of creativity once I have space to actually create!

The only drawback is that this will most likely lead to the reorganizing of several different closets in my house...all of which are in abnormal spots and are not proportional fit to hold the items that are in there....

So wish me luck, and hopefully I will make it out alive!

I'm on Etsy!

a
While Mike did all the parenting last week...I focused my spare moments on getting my Etsy.com shop up and runnning! I am so excited! After months of trying to figure out how I could shout to the world  "hey, I'm right here!" I found a way on Etsy. For those of you who have no idea what Etsy is, then where have you been? Hiding under a rock? You have to check it out for yourself and be prepared to be lost in lalaland for a couple hours!

So although I have occupied a tiny little spot in the ever evolving world wide web with this blog...I will now be taking up a bit more space with my Etsy page...soooo....have a looksee and tell me what you think!

Here it is:

Yep...that was it..cool huh? I can't wait to work on more handmade ones and add those to the batch!

So,until next time, have a nice week!

Just like you, mommy!

s
I am not really sure why my son has this fascination with my bracelets...but he absolutely freaks out everytime I put them on. To the point that he would rip them off my wrist! At first he would just suck on them, then, one day he was in the living room playing with them, when I heard him cry out. I looked over and he had them all around his leg! They were stuck, and he couldn't get them off...maybe that's not really funny, in fact some people might think I was neglecting him by letting him play with bracelets. But it's not like they would fit around his neck or chock on them! So I laughed...and now he does it all the time...

Well, on this particular morning, I was putting some dishes away and I knew that he was playing with my bracelets, so I quietly grabbed the camera to try and get a few shots...

To my surprise, he was ready...oh, he whipped out this smile...the biggest grin I ever did see...ear to ear I tell you...it melted my heart! Say cheese!

Hustle & Bustle

g
The long weekend is over. It was three days of doing stuff, packing stuff, cleaning, cooking and all in between. I'm kinda glad its over. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the whole three days! While trying to squeeze naps and housework into an already busy weekend was, we were out enjoying the warm muggy weather on Saturday at Rib Fest, an annual must go to....mmmm...the vendors were great, the food was great -although, I must remember not to eat before I go next time!

MMM...pulled pork on a bun!

Hanging on for dear life!

Hanging out with Aunt Cindy

Gray ended up with some kind of rash, possibly heat rash?, on his face and back ...but it didn't bother him in the least. I wasn't too worried about it...until....

Sunday....ah Sunday...I have to say the morning started out amazing...things were just happy, with smiles, hugs all around...that's a whole other blog-coming soon! Anyway, we were packing the car, making desserts and preparing to go to the annual family pool party. Cousins and aunts and uncles...everyone is there, swimming and eating and drinking! Its a great time!

But back to the rash...Gray still had a few spots on his cheeks...but after we dried him off from the pool and he was playing and climbing around...his face totally broke out! I had never seen anything like it...then I got worried, was it a heat rash? Did he eat something? Is it Chicken Pox?Measles? He seemed happy though?
I got convinced that it was probably something he ate, although I can't think of anything he had that was out of the ordinary, except for the food he had at Rib Fest, but would it take that long to go through his system? A whole day? So we went along as if everything was fine, gave him some Benadryl when we got home, and off he went to bed. The next morning the spots were not as bad, still there, but no where near as prominent. They seem more noticeable when we are outside playing...so maybe it is heat related?

If it doesn't clear up soon, I guess we are off to the Dr.s!
Overall, it was a great weekend spent with great people...but it's nice to come back to reality and our everyday routine. Another work week started....another weekend gone by!
