Bucket List

Around here in blogland, a lot of people have been making summer 'to do' lists. These lists include places they would like to go, what the kids want to do...etc. this summer. So I thought what the heck, it would be fun to have a 'to do' list that didn't involve work!

When I asked Gray what he wanted to do this summer he said bus. So there you have it...were going for a ride on the city bus one day! He'll love it! Mike of course wanted to have a campfire and camp in the tent in the backyard with Gray and I prefer the traditional summer things, like going to the beach and swimming. So we compiled everything into our 'Summer Bucket List.'

Photos taken last summer on our trip to the beach Canada day weekend

Some things have already been checked off, like go to the zoo, circus, Gray's first ice cream cone and as soon as we do some more I will be writing about our experience and posting pics!

So what are your plans for the summer? Do you have a summer Bucket List?

Refreshing

Warning-this is a photo loaded blog post! :)

For a couple days last week, our internet was down. Wow. It's such a strange and weird feeling to be 'out of touch' with people. Even with a phone at my fingertips, I relished in the idea of how lost I was in the daily happenings in everyones life. Mike was home on holidays all week, and we used our internet free time to do family things. I was worried how the week would go, since the three of us have a pretty good routine going during the week when Mike is at work. Sometimes it can be hard when someone comes into things and wants to help but they aren't sure when naps, snacks and feedings are.I find it tough to keep a calm attitude when schedules get altered, and kids get cranky. It did happen, and there were days when I wanted to pull out my hair because no one napped, and the naughty chair was well used, but as long as we stayed out of the house, things were good!

It was so refreshing to be out of the house. We went on several road trips last week, and I loved every moment (aside from the puke all over the car seat that happened Friday morning-that's a whole other story-and Mike cleaned it up-thank you!). Outside of the house there were no cranky toddlers, no screaming babies, no arguments between mom and dad, just fun.

Fun at the circus.

signs of fun-mosquito bites and scuffed knees

Fun walking on the trails.

How cute- 2 dads & 2 two year olds!

Fun sleeping.

That's how Westyn was sleeping at 6am when I went to check on him-he slept the whole night! YAY!

Fun at the zoo.

Don't worry Gray-that 'Kitty' won't bite!

Of course, Westyn enjoyed the Zoo too!

Fun in the rain.

How was your week? Any fun adventures?
Happy Weekend!

A Special Dad

My Father's Day post is a day late, but better late then never...:)

This past week Gray and I worked on Mike's gift. It was a messy but a fun day!

Our mess transformed into this:

And, a special Happy Father's Day to my Dad too...

Friday Adventures

Westyn went down for an early nap this morning and we got out at 9am to blow some bubbles in the morning sunhsine. Well, more like momma blew bubbles and Gray chased them!

We then went for what seemed like a nice walk...but was shortened to a screaming match with a toddler that wanted to run up and down the sidewalk and not hold mommy's hand or sit in the stroller.

Lunch ended with a peanut butter sandwich on the floor and a yogurt drink splattered all over the wall.

I was glad when it was nap time.

And what does Westyn do while all this takes place you ask? He chills.

Such a content little baby.

It's amazing what a nap can do, my bright eyed boy woke up refreshed and ready to go! After an afternoon of coloring and swinging, supper flew by and the night ended with a walk to the ice cream spot for Gray's first ice cream in a cone.

 Priceless.

Have a great weekend!
